“[In His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy...”
(Ephesians 1:4, AMP)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Family, Friends and my new friends that I have not yet met. Happy Thanksgiving and a SAFE Black friday weekend.
“Father, thank You for loving me today. Help me to understand Your love so that I can extend that love to those around me. Let me see myself and others as Your treasure in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Blessings Are Coming Your Way

“May the Lord, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised!”
(Deuteronomy 1:11, NIV)

God wants to release favor and blessing into your life. He longs to be good to you. Some blessings are stored up for you because someone in your family line honored Him. It may have been a parent or grandparent, or maybe someone way back in your history that you don’t even know; but because they lived a life of faith, now you are going to reap the rewards. It may have been a hundred years ago, but God wants to increase you a thousand times over your ancestors. When you have those moments where you feel like you’ve received “favor out of nowhere,” that’s the time to thank God for His grace and mercy. Thank Him for His promise to pass down blessings from generation to generation.
We serve a gracious and mighty God, and His favor lasts a lifetime! Open your heart with an attitude of expectancy because blessings are coming your way!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I give You honor and glory today for all You have done for me. I receive Your blessing and look forward to the good plans You have prepared for my future in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Brighter Days Ahead

“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.”
(Proverbs 4:18, NLT)

Are you facing a situation that seems dim today? Maybe you can’t quite see what’s going to happen in the future. As a believer, God promises that your path will shine brighter and brighter as you seek Him. He promises that the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn shining brighter to the full day!
What does it mean to be righteous? Righteousness is simply being in “right standing” with God. Being in right standing with God is about surrendering your life to Him. It’s about obeying His commands and seeking His plan for your life on a daily basis.
No matter what you may be facing today, know that God has a bright future for you. He wants to show you His ways and lead you down a bright path! Seek Him in all things and trust that you have brighter days ahead!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for giving me a bright future. I know that You have a wonderful plan and purpose for me. Show me Your ways as I put You first in all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Greater Than You Imagined

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”
(1 Corinthians 2:9, NIV)

Because God loves you, He has supernatural blessings in store for you: increase, favor, good breaks, supernatural opportunities. His dream for your life is so much greater than you ever imagined. You haven’t seen anything yet!
You may have a dream to get well again or be able to walk without pain, but God’s dream for you is not only that you will walk, but that you will run and play like you did when you were a child. Your dream may be just to keep your marriage together, but God’s dream is that your marriage would be happier, healthier and more fulfilling than you ever thought possible! Your dream may be to just pay your bills and make it through each month, but God’s dream is that you have an abundance, that you be totally out of debt, pay your house off, pay your credit cards off, and have so much overflow that you can be a blessing to everyone around you! Get ready because God has greater blessings in store for you than you ever imagined!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your hand of blessing on my life. I open my heart and receive by faith all You have me. Fill me with Your peace and joy as I continue to trust in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

What’s Chasing You?

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
(Psalm 23:6, NKJV)

In the Bible, David was known as a man after God’s own heart. Notice what what He says in Psalm 23, “Goodness and mercy are following me.” David lived with an attitude of expectancy. One translation says, “God’s kindness chases me everywhere that I go.” David’s attitude was, “Something good is going to happen to me. Everywhere I go, I know God’s blessings are chasing me. Favor is following me around.” No wonder he saw God’s goodness! No wonder he overcame his obstacles and accomplished great dreams. He knew good things were chasing after him!
Do you know what’s chasing you right now? Not debt. Not failure. Not mediocrity. Not defeat. Not lack. Not at all! You are a child of the Most High God. You have been crowned with favor. You have been redeemed from every curse. God has set you apart as His own special treasure. When you look back in your rearview mirror, you’d better get ready because you have a tailgater! There’s something coming toward you at a high rate of speed. You know what it is? Blessings, favor, supernatural opportunities, restoration, divine connections—God’s goodness and mercy following you all the days of your life! That’s what’s chasing you!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, I love You so much. Thank You for Your abundant grace and mercy. Today, I choose to look for Your goodness, favor and blessings. Let everything I say and do bring honor to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Focus on His Freedom

“...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
(2 Corinthians 3:17, NKJV)

All throughout Scripture, God’s mission was to bring freedom, life and blessing to those who followed Him. When Jesus walked the earth, it says He went around doing good, bringing healing, and setting people free everywhere He went.
If you feel overwhelmed by the pressures of the world today, remember, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! When you constantly focus on external things: distractions, worries, and cares of the world, they become bigger in your mind’s eye. But when you focus on what God has given you: peace, freedom, and abundant life, those are the things that you will see manifest in your life.
Today, focus on the right things by setting your mind on things above. Declare His goodness over your life. Sing a song of praise and thank Him for His hand of blessing. Remember, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. So focus on Him and focus on freedom!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for loving and setting me free. I cast my cares on You today and choose to focus on Your freedom. I bless You today and magnify You in my life in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

A Mark of Honor

“It is an honour for a man to cease from strife...”
(Proverbs 20:3, KJV)

Many challenges in life are merely distractions meant to keep us from pursuing our destiny. Maybe someone in the office isn’t as friendly to you as you’d like. Maybe you have a neighbor who always parks in front of your house and blocks your mailbox. Those things may be frustrating, but they have little significance when you look at the big picture. You can’t allow the little things to steal your joy and cause strife in your life.
Just before David fought the giant Goliath, his brother Iliab tried to confront him. But David knew that arguing with Iliab wasn’t even worth his time and strength. He knew his real battle was with Goliath, and he didn’t want to be distracted. He simply “turned away” from Iliab and kept his focus on what he was called to do.
Truth be told, most frustrations aren’t even worth fighting over. Let’s keep our focus and turn away from strife because it is a true mark of honor!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your hand of victory in my life. Give me the wisdom and courage I need to walk away from strife and honor You. I love You and bless You today and always in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The Power of Peace

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
(John 14:27, NIV)

No matter what may be going on all around you today, you can still live in perfect peace. Peace isn’t about what’s going on around you, it’s about what’s going on in you. It says in today’s verse, “do not let your heart be troubled.” That tells us that we have control over whether or not our hearts our troubled. You shouldn’t focus on all the negative things in this world to the point that it steals your peace.
If you have fear, worry or anxiety about anything, recognize that those feelings aren’t from God. He has promised to give you a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. There is tremendous power in peace. When you are at peace internally, you can think more clearly. You can hear the voice of God more easily. You’ll make better decisions. Even your physical body responds to peace. The enemy knows this, and his goal is to steal your peace. He tries to set you up to get upset. But when you choose peace, then no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Keep your mind stayed on Him every day because there is tremendous power in peace!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your gift of peace in my life. I choose to hold it close to me always. I receive Your Word as truth and life to my soul in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Strong on Your Behalf

“The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him...”
(2 Chronicles 16:9, NKJV)

God wants to show Himself strong on your behalf! He wants to amaze you with His goodness and show you His faithfulness. But notice what He’s looking for—hearts that are faithful toward Him.
Today, know that when you put God first, He’s going to act on your behalf. It doesn’t matter what’s happening in the world around you. It doesn’t matter what’s going on in the economy. In fact, it’s easy to believe for blessing when things are going well. When everything is going great around you, people might say, “Oh, that’s just because the economy is strong and we live in a land of abundance.” But when things don’t look so good and you prosper anyway, that’s a greater testimony to the world. People will see and know that it makes a difference to serve the Most High God! Keep your heart turned toward Him and let Him show Himself strong on your behalf!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your goodness and desire to show Yourself strong on my behalf. I invite You to work in my life. Keep my heart and mind close to You always. I bless Your holy name in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

He Meets Your Needs

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:19, NASB)

He Meets Your Needs
When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have access to everything He is: peace, provision, protection and more. That means no matter what is happening in the world today, as you obey God’s Word, your needs will be met. No matter what is going on with the economy, gas prices or housing market, God is still your Source; and if your Source is okay, then you are okay, too. Rest assured, there is no lack in heaven!
Not only is God able to meet your needs, He wants to meet your needs. It gives Him great pleasure to bless and prosper you. Expect that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Look for His hand of provision in your life and praise Him for His faithfulness. Do whatever He says to do and watch Him open the windows of heaven!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your provision in my life. Thank You for loving me and guiding me. I trust that You are meeting every one of my needs today. Help me to follow Your commands that I may honor You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Love the Word

“Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing shall make them stumble.”
(Psalm 119:165, NIV)

Love the Word
Everything you need in this life is found in the Word of God—direction, healing, peace, joy and provision. No matter what situation you may be facing today, you can live in peace and victory by knowing God’s Word and applying it your life. Notice this verse says that the people who love God’s Word have great peace. How do you show your love for God and His Word? By studying it, meditating on it, and obeying His commands. When you choose to obey God’s Word, it activates His promises in your life. It activates His great peace in your heart. It activates His blessing, power and provision. When you hold God’s Word in your heart, nothing that can take it from you! When you love the Word of God and apply it to your life, you will have great peace and nothing can make you stumble!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, I humbly come before You, giving You all that I am. I choose to follow Your Word because I love and honor You. Give me Your strength and great peace for today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Strength under Control

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
(Matthew 5:5, NKJV)

When most people hear that word “meek,” they think of a weak, shy, reserved or timid person who lets everybody run all over them. But that’s not at all what it means to be meek. Meekness is not weakness; it’s strength under control. Meekness is like a wild horse that has been tamed. He’s just as strong, just as powerful, has just as much speed as before; but now that strength is under control. You can walk up to that horse, pet him, lead him around, and ride him. But don’t be fooled. He has the same power and tenacity as before; he’s just learned how to control it.
When you’re a meek person, you don’t have to go around trying to straighten everybody out. You don’t respond to every critic. People may be talking about you, but you don’t let it bother you. You may have the power to do something about it, but you realize your time is too valuable. You don’t fall for every distraction. Instead, you keep your focus on what God has called you to do. That’s meekness—having strength under control!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the blessing of meekness. I choose today to be a person of self-control. Help me to know when to speak and when to listen, when to respond and when to hold back. Help me to honor You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Blessings on the Other Side

“When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.”
(Psalm 84:6, NLT)

Do you feel like you are walking through a tough place in your life today? When you walk through the “valley of weeping,” God is walking with you. He wants to strengthen and empower you to keep moving forward. He is leading you to a place of blessing and refreshing! Be encouraged today, it’s not over until God says it’s over, and He always causes us to triumph! The Bible says that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. It also says that the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn shining brighter until the full day. No matter how dark your circumstances may seem, you are on a path that is shining brighter and brighter. There is a place of victory beyond your challenge. Keep moving forward in faith one step at a time because there is blessing on the other side!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for leading me to my place of blessing. I trust that You are faithful and believe that You have a good plan for my life. Help me to always hear Your voice so I can follow You all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Learning to Soar

He changes times and seasons...”
(Daniel 2:21, NIV)

God is always looking to take us to higher levels in Him. He wants us to grow and increase in every area of life. Change is often the catalyst for growth in our lives. It keeps us from getting stuck in a rut. God will supernaturally open and close doors to keep us on the path toward our destiny. He will “stir us” out of comfortable situations and stretch us because He loves us too much to allow us to live in mediocrity. Just like a mother eagle will stir her young, God will stir His children.
Do you know how an eaglet learns to fly? The mother eagle will take her eaglet to the very highest point—way out of its comfort zone—and then she releases it. As the eaglet falls, the mother swoops down and picks it up again. She does this over and over until the eaglet spreads its wings and soars through the air. That’s what God wants for you today. He wants you to soar in life! You might feel like that eaglet learning to fly, but know that God is right there with you! He’ll never leave you. Embrace God’s change today, knowing that He is using it to take you up higher so that you can live in victory all the days of your life!
A Prayer for Today
“Dear God, today I open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me. I trust that You are with me, directing my every step. I embrace Your seasons of change and thank You for helping me grow and increase in every area in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Delight in One Another

“And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us...”
(Ephesians 5:2, AMP)

Have you ever thought about what it means to delight in others? Or, to esteem and honor the people God has placed in your life? Sometimes it’s easy to take for granted your family and close friends, but we are called to honor and value those around us. You are God’s representative in the earth, and when you make the effort to bless and encourage the people in your life, you are displaying God’s love for them. Not only that, you are displaying your love for God.
Notice today’s verse doesn’t say, “Walk in love as long as everyone acts the way you want them to.” It doesn’t say, “Esteem others as long as they treat you right.” No, it simply says, “Walk in love as Christ loved.” There are no conditions to God’s love, and there should be no conditions to our love for others either. Today, show love and sow love and watch how God pours out His love on every area of your life in return!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, help me to love others today the way You love me. Show me how to be a blessing to the people You have placed in my life. I choose to honor You by honoring others today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Draw Closer to Your God

“When you draw close to God, God will draw close to you...”
(James 4:8, TLB)

There’s a story in the Bible about a prodigal son who returned home to his father. When the father saw him a long way off, he began running toward his son with his arms outstretched. This story gives us an example of how God is always ready to receive us with outstretched arms.
God promises that He will draw close to you when you draw closer to Him. How do we draw close to Him? By making time to pray, reading the Bible, and worshiping every day. By meditating on His promises. By attending a good, Bible-based church. By putting Him first place in everything that you do. The easiest way is to simply call on His name. The good news is that when you take that first step toward Him, He will come running toward you!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for drawing close to me as I take a step toward You. Give me the strength to serve You and always put You first in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Cast Your Cares

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
(1 Peter 5:7, NIV)

God cares so much about you today. Not only does He love and care about you, He cares about the things that concern you as well. If you have concerns, worry or anxiety about something in your life; finances, relationships, your job or anything else, know that your heavenly Father already has a plan to take care of those things for you. It’s a good plan, and He wants to show Himself strong on your behalf. The Scripture reminds us that the lilies of the field and the birds of the air are cared for, how much more will your heavenly Father take care of you?
Today, cast all of your anxiety on Him and choose to trust that He will take care of you. Refuse to dwell on your problems. Don’t let them steal your peace and joy any longer. Instead, meditate on His Word and declare His promises over your life. Cast your cares on Him because He cares for you!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, I choose today to cast my cares on You. I trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I bless and magnify You today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Observe to Do

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.”
(Joshua 1:8, AMP)

Did you know that when you speak the Word of God, it activates power in your life? In fact, this verse says to not let it depart from your mouth. In other words, keep speaking and confessing the Word of God—no matter what your circumstances seem like. When you keep God’s Word in your mind, heart and mouth, it empowers you to obey all that the Lord commands. Do you need strength today to overcome temptation? Do you need to be empowered to walk in love? Get the Word of God in your heart and declare what the Word of God says about your situation.
Declare that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Declare that you have God’s grace for all things. And notice what this verse says will happen when you are walking in obedience to God’s Word: The key to having abundance and success in every area of your life is found in the Word of God. As you continue to speak the Word of God, you will be empowered in every area of your life, and you will live the life of victory the Lord has in store!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your Word which gives me strength. Fill me with Your power so that I can obey Your commands. I bless You today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Mustard Seed Faith

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”
(Luke 17:6, NIV)

A mustard seed is a very small thing. But when it’s planted, it grows into a huge tree. In the same way, Jesus is saying that a little bit of faith can bring tremendous results! As a believer in Him, you already have enough faith on the inside of you to overcome any obstacle. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead actually dwells in you! It doesn’t matter if you grew up in church or not; it doesn’t matter what you know or don’t know, God wants to work in your life today. You may not see how, but all you have to do is believe God.
With God, all things are possible. Do you have mustard seed faith? The Bible says that faith without works is dead. When you have faith, your words and actions reflect it. Take a step of faith today and declare your trust in Him. Even if you don’t see how, declare that God is working behind the scenes in your life. As you act on your mustard seed faith, you’ll see it grow stronger and stronger, and you will live in victory all the days of your life!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, today I confess my trust and reliance on You. Thank You for depositing seeds of faith in my heart so that I can live in total victory. I believe that with You, all things are possible in Jesus’ name! Amen.”

Enlarge Your Territory

“Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory...”
(1 Chronicles 4:10, NIV)

God wants to bless you and enlarge your territory. Your territory can be your sphere of influence or your realm of responsibility or authority. Are you ready for increase in your life today? You may desire God’s increase, but the Bible says we have not because we ask not. Are you asking for God’s blessing? Are you asking Him to enlarge your territory? When you ask God to bless you, your faith is activated which opens the door for Him to work in your life.
Open your heart today and ask for God’s blessing, ask for His discernment and wisdom. Ask Him to make you more effective on your job; ask Him to increase the quality of your relationships; ask for more people to love and encourage. Ask Him to enlarge your territory so that you can be a greater blessing to those around you. As you take a step of faith in prayer today, God will hear you. He’ll open doors that no man can close and pour out His abundance in every area of your life!
A Prayer for Today
“Father in heaven, today I open my heart to You and ask You to bless me. I ask You to increase me in every area and teach me to be faithful to You always in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Blessings in Sleep

“...He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep.”
(Psalm 127:2, AMP)

The Lord longs to pour out blessings on you constantly—even when you sleep! Many people today struggle with sleeping at night. They stay awake or get poor sleep because they are constantly focused on their problems and worrying about tomorrow. But that’s not God’s plan for you! He wants you to enjoy your sleep as a time of blessing and refreshing. Understand that God has His hand on your life even in the midnight hour. He wants to speak to your heart and restore your dreams. He is taking care of those things that concern you.
When you cast your cares on Him and trust Him to work out every detail of your life, you’ll be able to enjoy that sweet sleep that He has promised. Make the decision today to enjoy the blessing of the Lord as you sleep tonight. Say a prayer before you go to bed and cast your cares on Him. As you allow the Lord to bless and refresh you in sleep, you’ll see a tremendous change in your waking hours. You’ll be more invigorated, more alert, and full of the blessing of the Lord in every area of your life!
A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of blessing. I ask that You teach me to receive that blessing even while I sleep. I cast my cares on You and trust that You are working behind the scenes in my life. Thank You for watching over me and protecting me. Thank You for refreshing me as I sleep tonight in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

You are An Example

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glorify to your Father who is in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:16, ESV)

You are God’s representative in this earth. When you follow the Word of God and allow Him to work in your life, you are letting your light shine. When you are good to people and show them kindness, even when they don’t deserve it, you are shining your light. When you smile and keep a good attitude, even when things don’t go your way, you are setting an example so that people will glorify God in heaven.
Notice this Scripture says, “they will see your good works.” People aren’t impressed by our knowledge or what we say; people are drawn to God by our good works. Today, ask the Lord to show you ways to share His goodness with others. Look for opportunities to let your light shine everywhere you go—at home, at work, in the grocery store, at the gym. There’s always an opportunity to be an example of God’s goodness!
A Prayer for Today“Father, thank You for choosing me to be Your representative. Show me how to let my light shine. Help me be an example of Your love and grace everywhere I go in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Pleasant Words

“Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet and delightful to the soul and healing to the body.”
(Proverbs 16:24, AMP

Do you need healing in your body—physically? Spiritually? Emotionally? Your words can bring that healing. Start speaking pleasant words—words of life, encouragement and thanksgiving. Guard your heart by making sure you are only listening to pleasant, life-giving words. If there’s something on the TV or radio that isn’t bringing life to your soul, turn it off. If someone’s having a conversation that’s not uplifting or productive, don’t be a part of it.
Choose to meditate on God’s Word which is living and active and full of life. Let His strength and peace rise in your soul. Keep your heart and mind focused on Him and always choose pleasant words!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your Word which is truth that sets me free. I repent today for any words that have brought destruction into my life or the lives of those around me. I ask that You uproot every negative seed and help me to always choose words of life in Jesus’ name! Amen.”
