Rainbow Bridge Ministries is a calling to help the Pets of all creation and their owners through St. Francis of Assisi and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Our mission is to provide Actions through prayer and Deeds through actions.
Our Daily Word is taken from the Ministry of Joel & Victoria Osteen.
St. Francis is truly an inspiration of someone who's example we should consider as children of God. Especially when it comes to his well known prayer. I point out "The Prayer of St. Francis" for a paricular reason, and that is because it has an especially important place in my daily life and continued dedication to Christ.
For those of us who are in 12 Step Recovery, the Prayer of St. Francis is introduced to us in the 11th Step of our Recovery Program when we are asked to "... improve our conscious contact with God..." As my first Sponsor pointed out to me when I was reintroduced to this Prayer, if I were to look at the opposite of what he asks in the Prayer, for example "Where there is Hatred, I may bring Love." My sponsor would ask me, "Ok, how many times did you choose hate over love?" Essentially, what he was asking me was, by taking the Prayer of St. Francis and reading it backwards, was I living counter to God's will for my Life? Was I part of the Problem, or part of the Solution?
Was I an instrument of Peace, or Discord? These, brothers and sisters are not easy questions to ask, nor answer. But, Simple questions never are. I hope this food for thought helps us all as we walk together on this road in the days ahead.
Many Blessings.
